Vehicle Titling

Titling your vehicle with your state’s BMV is the final step to owning your new car.

Vehicle Titling

Ensure your vehicle is titled correctly

Thank you for choosing Elements Financial for your auto loan. The final step in the auto loan closing process is to ensure that your vehicle is titled in your name(s) with Elements Financial FCU as the first lienholder with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) or its equivalent in your state.

Below are the next steps to ensure Elements Financial FCU is listed as the first lienholder on your vehicle.

Note: This information only applies if you financed your auto loan directly with Elements Financial. If your auto loan with Elements is through a third party (like The Savings Group, Gravity Lending, or iLending Direct), that company will handle the titling of your vehicle for you. The Savings Group consists of Auto Pay, Rate Genius, and Tresl.

If you purchased a vehicle from a dealership.

If you purchased your vehicle from a dealership and secured auto loan financing directly with Elements, the dealership may submit your title paperwork to the BMV on your behalf. Please contact the dealership to ensure that your registration is submitted to record Elements Financial FCU as the first lienholder.

If you bought out a vehicle lease.

All parties on the title must sign the back of the title as the seller(s). All parties listed on the loan must sign the back of the title as the buyer. Failure to do so will lead to an inability to transfer the title into your name(s).
