Who is Blake?
Formerly a Mortgage Technology Specialist, Blake recently transitioned to the HR team as a Talent Development Partner here at Elements. He describes himself as “a positive person who has a passion for helping our employees reach their professional goals.”
What does Blake do?
His role focuses on working with hiring managers to create an impactful interview process for internal and external applicants, moving the needle on all of Elements’ talent acquisition efforts. He also works closely with all our training and development programs, ensuring there is a persistent focus on employee improvement in areas such as leadership, teamwork, relationship building, and overall credit union industry knowledge.
When did Blake join Elements?
He joined Elements in February 2021, starting out as a Lending Risk Specialist. His father has worked for Eli Lilly for over 30 years and opened a savings account with Elements (then Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union) for Blake in 1998, making him an Elements member for almost 25 years now! He notes, “I had always had a great experience working with Elements, so when I saw an opening in 2021 that I was qualified for, I jumped at the opportunity.”
Why does Blake enjoy working at Elements?
He exclaims, “I love the people that I get to work with every day. I wanted a career that allowed me to focus on helping people reach their professional goals, and I have found that in my Talent Development role here at Elements.”
Where can we find Blake?
When not at work, you can find Blake at home spending time with his wife and two-month-old son. He is also a huge sports fan, particularly college and NFL football, so he is usually watching as many games as he can on Saturdays and Sundays with his friends and family.
What are some “fun facts” about Blake?
- His grandparents were in the movie “A League of Their Own”, which starred Tom Hanks. The movie was filmed in Huntingburg, Indiana, and they had the opportunity to be extras in the crowd during one of the stadium scenes!
- He likes to travel and has visited some incredible places such as Hawaii, the British Virgin Islands, and Mexico. He says that his “bucket list” places to visit are Italy, Ireland, and Germany.
- He enjoys surfing! He jokes, “I don’t get to do it often living in Indiana, but I love to surf whenever I get the chance!”
